- About the Houston Great Pyrenees Rescue -
Houston Great Pyrenees Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to the health, safety, and prevention of cruelty to Great Pyrenees and big white dogs. We provide foster care until the dogs are adopted. Prior to adoption, each dog receives health care, vaccinations, and is spayed or neutered. The adoption process includes an application, a vet reference, and a home visit.
Houston Great Pyrenees Rescue believes it is important for potential homes to learn about the nature of the Great Pyrenees breed. Then they can make a wise decison regarding adopting a Great Pyrenees. This is not a breed for everyone. It is our hope that they will love and respect the breed as we do. The love, affection, companionship, and caring that they give their humans is a most incredible and wondrous gift.
Houston Great Pyrenees Rescue is a member of TARPA, Texas Animal Release and Placement Association. TARPA covers 15 counties around Houston, Texas. We follow the TARPA Code of Ethics for appropriate care and placement of dogs in our program. Houston Great Pyrenees Rescue also operates under the Rescue Guidance and Code of Ethics of the Great Pyrenees Club of America. Houston Great Pyrenees Rescue is not officially associated with GPCA.
